This section of the National Cycle Network in the Scottish town of Carnoustie formerly had vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians sharing a single road with minimal speed calming measures or cycling infrastructure. To enhance safety along this stretch, a raised pavement was installed for walkers, cyclists, and equestrians, effectively separating them from vehicles. For additional safety, a series of Rosehill Highways speed cushions were added to deter speeding, significantly reducing the likelihood of accidents.
Our speed cushions are made using recycled rubber sourced from end-of-life tires, making them a more sustainable alternative to concrete speed calming solutions. These prefabricated units are designed for quick installation, significantly reducing the time roads need to be closed and minimising disruption to traffic flow. They are low-maintenance, impact-resistant, and engineered to maintain their shape and effectiveness over time, ensuring long-term performance and safety.
